The country had been a focus region for horizont3000 and its predecessor organisations for six decades. Most of the personnel assignments were carried out in Papua New Guinea. Accordingly, many of the returnees have strong ties to the country.
This initiative comes from PNG returnees around Toni Mair and Maria Ruckenstuhl and is aimed particularly at PNG returnees of ÖED and horizont3000.
