The Uganda Chamber of Energy & Minerals (UCEM) has successfully concluded its landmark 2025 Conference, held on April 29th and 30th in Kampala. Under the theme “Integrating Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future”, the event brought together key players from across the energy ecosystem — from policymakers and public institutions to innovators, private sector leaders, and civil society actors.
Over two dynamic days, the conference offered a blueprint for Uganda’s energy transition, demonstrating a firm national commitment to sustainable development and innovation.
Workshops and Breakout Sessions provided deep dives into:
• Emerging renewable energy technologies
• Local content development strategies
• Innovative financing models for the energy sector
• Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) best practices
• Women’s leadership and participation in the energy space
Exhibitions featured:
• Groundbreaking innovations in clean energy
• Transformative national and regional energy projects
• Next-generation energy services and solutions
Networking events facilitated:
• One-on-one engagements among high-level stakeholders
• The formation of strategic public-private partnerships
• Cross-sector dialogue to encourage collaborative energy models
The conference stood as both a milestone and a momentum-builder — a space where bold ideas met actionable strategies, and Uganda’s energy future took clearer shape.
From the compelling keynote address by Hon. Canon Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa, Uganda’s Minister for Energy and Minerals, to the lively and inclusive panel discussions, participants left energized and connected — inspired to carry forward the vision of an integrated, sustainable energy future.
