St. Joseph Lowareng'ak Health Center is one of the largest health facilities in the northern region under the SPEA Program, serving a catchment population of over 10,800 people. The center is accredited for social health insurance by the government and provides key services such as outpatient, inpatient, laboratory, immunization, antenatal, and maternity care. Recently, the facility faced a serious power issue when some of its batteries exploded, disrupting many services and prompting the government to consider downgrading the facility. The diocese replaced the batteries, but they were incompatible with the charging system, preventing essential equipment, like the sterilizing machine, from operating. Without reliable power, many critical services remain disrupted.
