Responsibility
A just energy transition considers the entire supply chain of materials, responsible resource use, recycling, and addresses externalities to ensure social and environmental sustainability. Our approach prioritizes fairness, minimizing negative impacts on people and ecosystems.

  • Advancing the adoption of solar power to enhance energy access in underserved communities
  • Promotion of alternative fuel sources (biogas, briquettes) and sustainable forestry practices to prevent deforestation

  • Supporting the production and adoption of efficient cookstoves and biogas to reduce firewood consumption and indoor air pollution
  • Raising awareness about the health, environmental and economic benefits of clean and efficient energy solutions, particularly for women and fostering behavioral change
  • Using carbon finance mechanisms to scale up clean cooking and energy-efficient technologies

Energy Mainstreaming

  • Integrating energy planning in institutional frameworks, using gender-responsive approaches to ensure equitable access and benefits
  • Development of viable funding models, including carbon finance to ensure sustainability and affordability of energy solutions
  • Development of sound operation and maintenance models for renewable energy technologies

Individuals

Our projects improve access to sustainable energy, raising awareness of its benefits. Empowering individuals with clean and efficient technologies leads to health improvements, resource savings, and business opportunities, especially for women, who often manage household energy needs.

We support partner organisations in energy mainstreaming and to develop sound operation and maintenance models for renewable energy infrastructure. We facilitate access to climate and carbon finance for sustainable energy and clean cooking projects implemented by our partner organisations.

Our emphasis is on strengthening networking and policy dialogue of partner organisations, advocating for a just transition towards sustainable energy. horizont3000 is shareholder in Klima-Kollekte, which facilitates certified climate change mitigation projects in the clean cooking and renewable energy sector.
