For years, he has been working with young footballers, whether at his previous clubs or in the football school he had founded. He attended an international coaching course at FC Barcelona and interned at Real Madrid.

Goals

  • The advisory assignment focuses on enhancing football coaching, training methodologies, monitoring and evaluation, and partnership development at the ACAKORO Football Academy in Nairobi, Kenya. In cooperation with Future for Kids, the advisor strengthens the academy’s coaching team, refines its training philosophy, and ensures the holistic development of young footballers from Korogocho’s informal settlement. The assignment supports ACAKORO in improving sports infrastructure, expanding external partnerships, and integrating best practices in football training and talent development.
  • Key objectives include training academy and community coaches, developing a comprehensive and modern training concept adapted to local conditions, and introducing analysis tools for player performance assessment. The advisor also implements M&E systems for football-related activities, ensuring quality assurance in coaching. A crucial aspect involves supervising existing and initiating new partnerships with local and international football clubs, educational institutions, and scholarship programs to create career pathways for talented players.
  • Significant achievements include the adaptation of the training concept across all teams, the introduction of performance analysis tools, and the initiation of sports science testing for long-term player health monitoring. Partnerships with Austrian and German clubs have resulted in player placements abroad, while collaborations with local clubs like Gor Mahia provide structured transition opportunities for female athletes. The advisor plays a vital role in the “Safe Haven” infrastructure project, managing the construction of a boarding school, football fields, and dormitories for children from Korogocho. Additionally, the assignment contributes to social business development, age fraud awareness campaigns, and mentorship programs to strengthen ACAKORO’s impact.
  • SDG targets: 4.7;4.a;5.5;8.6
